This tour combines two of the most impressive natural and historical sites in the Taurus Mountains: the dramatic Tazi Canyon, one of the largest canyons in Turkey and a first-degree protected natural area, and the well-preserved ruins of the ancient city of Selge, a 3,000-year-old mountain settlement with a remarkably intact Roman amphitheater. Along the way you also pass Adler (Eagle) Canyon, historic Roman bridges and aqueducts. Tour Program – Step by Step Hotel pick-up: Between 08:30 and 09:15 you will be picked up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle. The exact pick-up time depends on your hotel location and is confirmed after booking. Drive to the Beşkonak region: The journey to the foothills of the Taurus Mountains, near Köprülü Canyon National Park, takes approximately 50 minutes. Photo stop at the Roman bridge: A short stop is made at a historic Roman-era bridge over the Köprüçay River for photos and a brief explanation of its history. Drive up to Selge: The road climbs approximately 11 kilometers up to an altitude of around 1,400 meters, with short photo breaks along the way at scenic viewpoints and unusual rock formations known as the Adam Kayalar (Man Rocks). Ancient City of Selge: You explore the ruins of Selge, a mountain city founded around 3,000 years ago that flourished during the Roman period. Highlights include the remains of the city walls, the acropolis, temples dedicated to Zeus and Artemis, and the impressive amphitheater, which once seated up to 9,000 spectators and remains largely intact today. Adler (Eagle) Canyon: The tour continues to Adler Canyon, a dramatic gorge within Köprülü Canyon National Park. A short walk brings you to the edge of the canyon, offering spectacular panoramic views. Lunch by the river: A traditional lunch of trout, chicken or meatballs, served with rice, chips, bread and salad, is enjoyed at a restaurant by the Köprüçay River. Guests who wish may take the opportunity to swim in the river here. Tazi Canyon: In the afternoon you visit Tazi Canyon, one of the largest canyons in Turkey at approximately 410 meters deep and 40 meters wide, formed during the Ice Age and protected as a first-degree natural site. You will have time to take in the breathtaking panorama from a viewpoint at the summit. Tea break and return: On the way back, a stop is made at a village café for traditional Turkish tea or coffee with scenic views, before returning to your hotel at approximately 17:00–17:30. The total duration of the tour is approximately 8 hours.
